3 Core Values
1) Stretching Imagination Through Reading and Discussion
Many young learners today suffer from a lack of social awareness, general knowledge, and emotional intelligence. Why? They're inundated with technology and rarely read the important, classic texts.
At TCA we limit the use of technology and encourage extensive, deep reading. When students finally put away their phones and laptops and open a book, they begin to see life in fresh and exciting ways. Consequently, we have rich daily discussions on character, philosophy, and humanity.
Before all else, we cultivate the imaginations of our students. Without it, nothing works. Besides... all the fun of logic and learning is in the imagination… and reading is always the golden key to unlock it!
2) Celebrating Diversity and Individuality
Global school students are on the leading edge of our society. Life is becoming more interconnected. The planet is starting to feel smaller. We're encountering people from various backgrounds.
So, a core part of our work is teaching students to understand the lives of others... regardless of religion, race, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, or nationality. Generosity, compassion, and kindness are lifelong virtues.
Moreover, we love that every student at TCA is one-of-a-kind! Whether you're the "serious science kid" who secretly loves knitting... or the "computer geek" who enjoys listening to Puccini's operas... we welcome your unique self with open arms!
3) Developing Independence
Our super-objective at TCA is to cultivate independence in all learners. Students must become independent to be ready for their future educational and career paths. So, we don't want students to timidly follow instructions of parents or teachers. Instead, as soon as possible, we teach students to have courage and think for themselves. Our passionate and professional teachers help transform students into bright, bold, and fully-engaged citizens of the world.
